President Ben Shelly is in Washington this week for meetings regarding REAL ID with the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security.

The Senate resumes consideration of a domestic violence bill. It appeared that an agreement to quickly consider the bill may have hit a snag Wednesday evening in a procedural feud. A senior Democratic aide said that negotiations were ongoing to work out an agreement on amendments.

Appropriators in both chambers continue work on fiscal 2013 spending bills. The House Appropriations Committee is expected to approve the 302(b) allocations on a party-line vote, sending them to subcommittees for markups on program details and toward conflict with the Senate. The House votes to go to conference on a reauthorization of surface transportation programs.

The Senate resumes consideration of the motion to proceed to a domestic violence bill. 

House and Senate Appropriators continue work on spending bills. The House plans votes on a handful of cybersecurity bills and might vote to go to conference on a highway bill.
The Senate spends the early part of the week on a bill to overhaul the U.S. Postal Service and a disapproval resolution regarding an NLRB rule on union elections.
