WASHINGTON—On Jan. 28, Navajo student and former resident of the Bureau of Indian Education's Kinłání Dormitory, Wyatt Whitegoat, provided opening remarks and introduced First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2nd Annual School Counselors of the Year ceremony at the White House.

FARMINGTON — Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye will be among the tribal leaders who will attend the White House Tribal Nations Conference on Thursday in Washington, D.C.

The conference, which is entering its seventh year, provides leaders from the 567 federally recognized tribes the opportunity to interact directly with federal officials and members of the White House Council on Native American Affairs.

WASHINGTON - On Tuesday, Sept. 15, Amanda Tachine of Ganado, Ariz., received the Champion of Change award recognizing her efforts as leader within her community to empower her peers.

First Lady Michelle Obama got her hands dirty harvesting the White House Kitchen Garden Tuesday alongside students from a Coconino County charter school.
