House Passes Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON--Today the House passed a six-month stopgap-spending bill. By a vote of 267-151, the measure was largely supported by House Republicans with 14 Republicans voting against it.

HR 933 freezes existing appropriations and sets discretionary spending at $984 billion.

Opponents of the bill said the measure still did not give enough flexibility to lessen the blow of the sequester.

The Senate version of a final spending package remains unknown. It's the hope of many not in favor of reaffirming sequestration that a Senate version will allow more flexibility and bring order to the fiscal 2013 budget.
