Navajo Vice President Jonathan Nez addresses Native American graduates at Dartmouth College

HANOVER, N.H.—On Sunday, June 14, Navajo Nation Vice President Jonathan Nez congratulated 17 Native American students, including four Navajo students, at an honoring ceremony following commencement at Dartmouth College.

Vice President Nez spoke to the graduates at the Dartmouth College Native American Program’s blanketing ceremony for graduating Native American students. The four Navajo graduates include Kenneth Amaya, Samuel Black, Mariah Claw and Erin Weldon.

“We are very proud of you. The Navajo Nation has a deep commitment to advancing educational opportunities for its people. On behalf of the Navajo Nation, we congratulate you for your accomplishments,” said Vice President Nez.

In closing, Vice President Nez reiterated the Begaye-Nez Administration’s commitment to education and their call to educated Navajos to return home to work and help strengthen and build their Nation.
