Quake Rocks Eastern Seaboard

Washington, DC--A 5.9 earthquake shook the eastern seaboard today causing major building evacuations in Washington, DC including the White House, the Pentagon and congressional and federal offices. The quake's epicenter was 80 miles south of the nations capitol in Virginia.

"The safety of the NNWO staff is of the utmost priority. This event is a firm reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness. In the interest of safety the physical office is closed, however the NNWO remains reachable via email and phone. The reopening of the physical office is intended to occur tomorrow at 9 am EST. We will post updates to the www.nnwo.org website.," said NNWO Executive Director Clara Pratte.
