Today on Capitol Hill

The Senate resumes consideration of the “minibus” fiscal 2012 appropriations measure, planning votes on at least six amendments. Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., expressed optimism that the Senate could complete work on that measure Thursday evening, but he filed cloture motions in case an agreement cannot be reached.

Health, Education, Labor and Pensions resumes its markup of a bill to rewrite the federal education law. The markup stalled after a procedural maneuver by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Wednesday.
