Description
Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, requested information from stakeholders on ways to reform the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Specifically, Cassidy seeks information on how the NIH could improve its process for approving federal research grants, better support the biomedical research workforce, bolster collaboration across academia and industry, and increase transparency into agency activities. Cassidy hopes to use the feedback to identify policies for future legislative efforts to reform the NIH. The deadline to submit feedback is Friday, October 27th.
