Homicide Victims' Families' Rights Act

The Department of Justice is proposing a rule to implement the Homicide Victims' Families' Rights Act of 2021. The proposed rule would explain and effectuate the Act's system for reviewing and, as warranted, reinvestigating murders investigated by Federal law enforcement agencies that remain unsolved after three years. The proposed regulation has Indian Country-specific considerations.
