Description
As part of the Federal response to the Not Invisible Act Commission’s recommendations on how to combat the missing and murdered Indigenous peoples and human trafficking crises, the Department of the Interior and the Department of Justice committed to holding a roundtable to discuss best practices regarding the issue of fair and equitable media coverages of these issues, which have been underfunded and under-reported for decades.
This roundtable will provide a venue for dialogue between Tribal leaders, advocates, journalists, and Federal agencies to discuss this issue. The conversation will inform the development of a set of guidelines and best practices called for in Chapter 1, recommendation E1, of the Commission’s report.
