WHCNAA, Sacred Sites

The White House Council on Native American Affairs (WHCNAA) is hosting a Tribal consultation to receive input and feedback on its draft, “Best Practices Guide for Federal Agencies Regarding Tribal and Native Hawaiian Sacred Sites” (Sacred Sites Best Practices Guide). In response to Tribal Nation requests for the federal government to take further actions to protect sacred sites, WHCNAA has developed a draft Sacred Sites Best Practices Guide. This draft has been included in the Dear Tribal Leader Letter issued by WHCNAA. The consultation will take place August 31, 2023 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm ET. Registration is here. Written comments are due September 29, 2023 and can be submitted to whcnaa@bia.gov
